ISRO Launches XPoSat for Cosmic Research

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the X-ray Polarimeter Satellite (XPoSat) using the PSLV-C58 rocket, marking its first mission dedicated to X-ray polarisation studies. Equipped with instruments POLIX and XSPECT, developed by the Raman Research Institute and U R Rao Satellite Centre, respectively, XPoSat aims to study 50 cosmic sources over five years. This mission advances research on black holes and neutron stars. The PSLV also carried 10 additional payloads, showcasing ISRO’s innovation and commitment to enhancing cosmic understanding.
