ADB Approves $42M Loan For Coastal Protection in Maharashtra
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a million loan for coastal protection in Maharashtra to enhance resilience against environmental challenges and safeguard livelihoods. The project aims to restore and stabilize the coastline, benefiting local communities and economies. The Maharashtra Maritime Board will implement the initiative, focusing on shore management, stakeholder capacity building, and community resilience. Training programs will address gender equality and sustainable livelihood activities. Establishing a Coastal Infrastructure Management Unit, the project aligns with broader goals of environmental sustainability, economic growth, and social inclusivity.
