CHARAK Initiative

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has launched the CHARAK initiative (Community Health – A Responsive Action for Koylanchal) to provide free treatment for serious illnesses to economically weaker sections in the Singrauli and Sonbhadra regions. Beneficiaries with annual family incomes below ₹8 lakhs can access healthcare for diseases like cancer, heart issues, tuberculosis, and organ transplants. Treatment is offered at NCL's hospital and partner facilities across India. Since its inception, CHARAK has impacted 10 lakh individuals. NCL’s CMD, Shri B. Sairam, highlighted the initiative’s aim to alleviate financial and emotional burdens on families, reinforcing NCL's commitment to CSR in healthcare.
