UAE Advances in Human Rights

The Union Association for Human Rights (UAHR) commended the UAE’s progress in human rights, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over the past five years, the UAE introduced 55 new laws addressing domestic violence, discrimination, and human trafficking, along with protections for witnesses, juveniles, and senior citizens. National strategies include the UAE Gender Balance Council Strategy and the National Policy for Emirati Women (2023-2031). The UAE ranks seventh globally in the Gender Inequality Index and leads the Lack of Labour Disputes Index. Internationally, it has ratified key treaties, including the Convention Against Torture, showcasing its commitment to global human rights standards.
