Major Infrastructure Projects Under PM GatiShakti
PM GatiShakti, launched in October 2021, is a ₹15.89 lakh crore initiative focusing on enhancing India’s infrastructure. With 228 projects across sectors like roads, railways, urban development, and oil, it aims to streamline logistics and encourage integrated growth. The Network Planning Group (NPG) ensures multi-modal connectivity for projects above ₹500 crore, while the National Master Plan (NMP) leverages over 1,600 geospatial data layers for efficient planning. Sector-Specific Plans for Efficient Logistics (SPEL) target goods movement in industries like coal and cement. The initiative integrates land records and prioritizes 27 aspirational districts, promising reduced logistics costs and improved economic connectivity.
