Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty

The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, launched at the G20 Summit in Brazil, aims to eradicate hunger and poverty by 2030. Led by the FAO, it focuses on school meal programs, cash transfers, smallholder farming support, and water access. With partnerships spanning governments, UN agencies, and charities, the alliance seeks collective action to address challenges from COVID-19, conflicts, and climate change, which currently affect 733 million people facing chronic hunger. FAO provides expertise and collaborates with global initiatives like G7 and COP to foster sustainable development and inclusive growth.
