Dr. Jacqueline d’Arros Hughes Appointed Secretary General of World Agriculture Forum
Dr. Jacqueline d’Arros Hughes has been appointed Secretary General of the World Agriculture Forum (WAF), moving from her leadership role at ICRISAT, where she promoted resilient crop research, rural livelihoods, and dryland agriculture. Known for her adaptive leadership, Hughes has received recognition, including the Africa Food Prize in 2021 and led ICRISAT’s involvement in global initiatives like the UN Year of Millets. Her new role at WAF will focus on driving sustainable and resilient agricultural practices on a global scale, addressing critical challenges in food security and rural development.
