DRDO’s Advanced VSHORADS System

DRDO successfully conducted three flight tests of the Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) in Pokhran, Rajasthan, showcasing India’s advancing defense capabilities. VSHORADS is a 4th generation, portable missile system designed to counter low-flying threats like drones and aircraft within a range of 5 to 20 kilometers. It features a "hit-to-kill" capability, ensuring direct target destruction. The system’s development aligns with the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, reducing dependency on imports. Collaboration with the Indian Armed Forces ensures the system meets operational needs, marking a significant milestone in India’s defense technology.
