Pact for the Future
World leaders have adopted the "Pact for the Future," a global agreement focusing on promoting peace, sustainability, and inclusivity for future generations. The Pact comprises two key components: the Global Digital Compact, aimed at making the digital world accessible and secure, and the Declaration on Future Generations, emphasizing the protection of future rights and resources. Adopted by consensus in the 193-member UN General Assembly, the Pact reflects global unity despite opposition from countries like Russia and Iran, which proposed amendments that were rejected. It represents a commitment to collaborative governance to tackle global challenges.
