PM Vishwakarma Scheme
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched in September 2023, aims to support traditional artisans by providing financial aid, modern machinery, skill enhancement, and market access. Over 6.5 lakh artisans have benefited, particularly from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, with loans up to ₹3 lakh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated its anniversary in Wardha, Maharashtra, announcing two additional schemes: the Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Center for youth training and the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme for female entrepreneurs. The scheme preserves India’s cultural heritage and promotes sustainable practices.
