India Commissioned Advanced Nuclear Submarine INS Arighaat
India has commissioned its second nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN), INS Arighaat, marking a significant advancement in its naval defense capabilities. Building on the success of INS Arihant, the first SSBN commissioned in 2016, INS Arighaat boasts an extended missile range of 3,500 km, far surpassing Arihant's 750 km. Designed and built domestically, it supports India's goal of defense self-reliance. This new submarine strengthens India's strategic deterrent, with further plans to expand the SSBN fleet, underlining the nation's commitment to enhancing maritime security.
