Vishanu Yuddh Abhyas
Vishanu Yuddh Abhyas, held from August 27 to 31, 2024, was India’s first national mock drill designed to evaluate preparedness against zoonotic diseases, which spread from animals to humans. The exercise, under the National One Health Mission, involved key organizations like NCDC, ICMR, and DAHD. The drill tested India’s ability to respond to a simulated outbreak, focusing on cross-sector coordination between human health, animal husbandry, and wildlife management. While the response was timely, the exercise highlighted areas for improvement, providing insights to strengthen future outbreak management efforts.
