Maharashtra Launches ₹1,500 Monthly Aid for Eligible Women
The Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Scheme, launched in Maharashtra on August 17, provides ₹1,500 monthly aid to women aged 21 to 65 from low-income families. With a cost of ₹46,000 crore annually, this scheme is modeled after Madhya Pradesh's Ladli Behna Yojana. It aims to empower women financially and politically, especially as the state approaches upcoming elections. Despite concerns about its high cost and potential political motives, the scheme is positioned as a key effort for gender equality and social upliftment in the state.
