Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar Awards 2024
The Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar Awards, reintroduced in 2024 by the Indian government, will recognize outstanding contributions to science and technology. This year, thirty-three awards will be given across four categories: Vigyan Ratna for lifetime achievements, Vigyan Shri for distinguished contributions, Vigyan Yuva for young scientists, and Vigyan Team Award for collaborative efforts. The awards ceremony will take place on August 23, 2024, coinciding with National Space Day, celebrating the Chandrayaan-3 moon landing. The selection process was managed transparently through a nomination portal, aiming to promote scientific innovation and inspire young scientists in India.
