Uttar Pradesh Bioplastic Park
Uttar Pradesh's government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is establishing a bioplastic park in Lakhimpur Kheri's Kumbhi village, covering 1000 hectares with an investment of Rs 2000 crore. Strategically located to leverage local farming strengths, the project is managed by Balrampur Chini Mill under UPEIDA's oversight. Bioplastics, derived from renewable plant sources, are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. The park is expected to create jobs, support related industries, and boost the regional economy. Environmentally, it aims to reduce pollution and combat plastic waste. Additionally, it will serve as a research hub for advancing plastic recycling and waste reduction technologies.
