67th Global Environment Facility Council

The 67th Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council meeting concluded on June 20, 2024, approving 6.4 million for 34 global nature conservation and renewal projects. Funding was allocated to various funds: 19 projects from the GEF Trust Fund, three from the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF), 12 from the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF), and one from the Multi-Trust Fund. Key projects include .8 million from the GBFF for protected areas in Brazil and Mexico, and significant initiatives in India, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Central Asia, and Namibia. Established in 1991, GEF supports over 170 countries with .7 billion in grants and 7 billion in co-financing.
