Climate Change in the Indian Mind, 2023
A recent study called “Climate Change in the Indian Mind, 2023” reveals that a vast majority of Indians, over 90%, are concerned about climate change and support green policies and climate action. Conducted by the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and CVoter, the study found that 91% acknowledge global warming, with 59% being very worried. Most believe it will harm plants, animals, and people, and think it significantly affects local weather and monsoons. There is strong support for government action, with 86% backing policies for Net Zero emissions by 2070. The study underscores the need for increased climate education, stronger policies, and international cooperation.
