IIPE Eco-Friendly Water Treatment Solution

The Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy (IIPE) in Visakhapatnam, along with several national research institutions, has developed an eco-friendly water treatment solution called the "Surface Modification Technique of Membrane." This innovative method, which enhances the cleaning of muddy river water using plasma process gas, significantly improves the efficiency and lifespan of cellulose nitrate membranes. The technique, published in "Nature Scientific Reports," uses non-toxic gases instead of harsh chemicals and offers substantial benefits for various industries, including pharmaceuticals, food preparation, and textiles, by reducing operating costs and environmental damage.
