200 More Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals

The Indian Railways is expanding its Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals (GCTs) initiative, planning to establish an additional 200 terminals to complement the first 100, aimed at boosting freight revenue and improving rail network efficiency. These terminals are developed under public-private partnerships and facilitate the handling and transportation of bulk cargo by rail. The expansion is in response to the successful commissioning of the majority of the initially planned terminals, with further development aimed at increasing the railways' freight capacity and enhancing modal share in India's overall freight movement.
