19th Divya Kala Mela
Summary: The 19th Divya Kala Mela, held in Visakhapatnam, was inaugurated by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer with support from Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar. This annual festival, organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, empowers Divyang artisans by showcasing their talents in handicrafts, handlooms, and packaged foods. Over 100 artisans from 20 states participated, supporting the "Vocal for Local" initiative. The NDFDC provided concessional loans totaling ₹40 lakh to 10 beneficiaries, promoting financial independence. Running from September 19 to 29, the event celebrates inclusivity and entrepreneurship, contributing to the empowerment of people with disabilities.
