Dadabhai Naoroji – Important Personalities of Modern India

Introduction
Dadabhai Naoroji (1825-1917), also known as the 'Grand Old Man of India' was an Indian social and political leader, academician, economist, intellectual, leading nationalist author, spokesperson and co-founder of the Indian National Congress (INC). Although he was one of the sharpest critics of British economic policies in India, he was the first Indian to have membership in the British Parliament. Naoroji was a well-known public figure who gained immense support from all around the world. Being a Moderate member of the Indian National Congress (INC), he fought hard for improving the conditions of Indians and campaigned for the independence of India throughout his political career.
