Tiger Migration in Maharashtra
A male tiger born in Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, Maharashtra, has undertaken a 500-kilometre journey to Solapur district, marking a significant wildlife migration event. The Pune Forest Department has proposed relocating the tiger to the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, 300 km away. Tipeshwar, known as the "Green Oasis," is a biodiverse sanctuary, while Sahyadri, established in 2008, is a crucial conservation area in the Western Ghats. Experts attribute the tiger's migration to the search for territory or mates due to limited habitats in Vidarbha. The event underscores the importance of understanding wildlife movement and habitat conservation in mitigating human-wildlife conflicts.
