E-Shram Portal: Empowering Unorganised Workers

The E-Shram Portal, launched on August 26, 2021, has registered over 30 crore unorganised workers as of December 2024. It creates a National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW), verified via Aadhaar, to facilitate access to social security, job opportunities, and welfare schemes. Workers aged 16–59 can register online or at Common Services Centres (CSCs). The portal offers a Universal Account Number (UAN) linked to Aadhaar, ensuring seamless access to services. Promoting financial inclusion and social welfare, E-Shram strengthens workforce management and empowers millions in the unorganised sector.
