India’s Mobile Subscriptions – 115.12 Crore
India has reached a significant milestone with 115.12 crore mobile subscriptions, reflecting extensive connectivity across 97% of rural areas. The government, through initiatives like the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) and BharatNet Project, is enhancing mobile and broadband access in underserved regions. BharatNet’s ₹1,39,579 crore investment will connect an additional 42,000 Gram Panchayats. Over 4.6 lakh 5G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) now provide 5G services in 779 districts. Under PM JANMAN, 1,136 particularly vulnerable tribal habitations have gained mobile access. These efforts underscore India's commitment to comprehensive digital connectivity and bridging rural-urban communication gaps.
