World Malaria Report 2024
The World Malaria Report 2024 highlights India's progress, achieving a 69% reduction in malaria cases from 2017 to 2023, positioning the country to exit the High Burden to High Impact (HBHI) group in 2024. Deaths also dropped by 68%, reflecting effective prevention and treatment strategies. Globally, malaria persists with 263 million cases and 597,000 deaths in 2023, mostly in Africa. Southeast Asia achieved an 82% case reduction since 2000, with India leading the efforts. Continued challenges like climate change require enhanced health systems, community engagement, and global cooperation to sustain progress.
