Handbook of Statistics on Indian States 2023-24
The Reserve Bank of India has released the Handbook of Statistics on Indian States 2023-24, presenting key data on demographics, health, and state-level economic indicators from 1951 to 2024. New metrics include the Gender Parity Index, Gross State Value Added, and afforestation statistics. Telangana’s Net State Domestic Product grew by 15% to ₹13.61 lakh crore, ranking seventh, while Maharashtra remains the top contributor. Wage disparities persist, with Kerala offering the highest rural wages, ₹894/day, and Madhya Pradesh the lowest at ₹292/day. The report highlights economic growth, narrowing wage gaps, and regional trends critical for policymakers.
