China Bans Gallium, Germanium, Antimony Exports
China has escalated its trade conflict with the United States by banning the export of gallium, germanium, and antimony—critical minerals essential for military and technological applications. The ban follows stricter U.S. regulations targeting China's chip industry. China has also introduced controls on dual-use products, requiring exporters to disclose end-users to prevent military misuse. These measures complement previous restrictions on rare earth magnets and retaliatory actions against U.S. companies like Micron. The "unreliable entity list" and the 2021 anti-foreign sanctions law further exemplify China’s robust trade defense strategy amid rising geopolitical tensions.
