New Telecom Cyber Security Rules in India
India's new telecom cybersecurity rules strengthen communication network protection by mandating security incident reporting, data sharing (excluding message content), and adopting comprehensive cybersecurity policies. Each telecom entity must appoint a Chief Telecommunication Security Officer (CTSO) and secure data management infrastructure. The rules prohibit misuse of equipment and mandate IMEI registration for telecom devices. These measures aim to align India's cybersecurity framework with global standards, ensuring robust protection and regulatory compliance for all telecom networks and services.
