International Week of Science and Peace (IWOSP)
The International Week of Science and Peace (IWOSP), observed from November 9 to 15, promotes peace through scientific collaboration. Originating in 1986 during the International Year of Peace, it gained UN recognition in 1988 under Resolution 43/61. The week features global conferences, workshops, and educational activities that emphasize the role of science in conflict resolution and sustainable development. Participants include scientists, educators, policymakers, and students, fostering dialogue and innovation. IWOSP aims to inspire future generations while addressing global challenges, reinforcing its relevance in advancing peace and sustainability worldwide.
