India Joins International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF)

On October 3, 2024, India became an affiliate member of the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), a global organization that harmonizes medical device regulations. India’s membership, facilitated by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), allows the country to align its medical device regulations with international standards, improve patient safety, and enhance global market competitiveness. Approved during the 26th IMDRF session, this membership will foster international collaboration and help India contribute more effectively to global medical device standards.
