India-EU Defence Cooperation
In September 2024, Indian officials visited Europe to strengthen defence ties with the European Union (EU), focusing on maritime security and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region. Both sides aim to address common security challenges in areas like maritime, land, and cyberspace. Discussions revolved around understanding the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and fostering joint military operations. Maritime security remains central to these efforts, with joint naval operations between the EU Naval Force and the Indian Navy already underway. This cooperation is aimed at safeguarding vital trade routes and promoting regional stability.
