India to Host First BIMSTEC Business Summit in 2024

India will host the first BIMSTEC Business Summit on August 6, 2024, in New Delhi, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Confederation of Indian Industries. This summit aims to enhance cooperation among BIMSTEC countries—Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan, and Nepal—by focusing on trade facilitation, regional connectivity, energy security, inclusive growth, and sustainable development. The summit, opened by India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, will feature speeches from key leaders including Minister of Commerce and Industries Shri Piyush Goyal, with participation from over 300 stakeholders including ministers, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
