India-Russia JV AK-203 Rifle Production
India and Russia have successfully completed the first phase of their joint venture to produce AK-203 assault rifles, marking a significant milestone in India's defense manufacturing capabilities under the "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiatives. The Korwa Ordnance Factory in Amethi is now fully equipped to produce these rifles, with the first 35,000 units already delivered to the Indian Army. Indo-Russian Firearms Pvt Ltd has achieved a major milestone by producing the first 5,000 rifles, and the factory is now prepared to meet the demand for over 600,000 rifles.
