Over 5,000 Indians Trapped in Cambodia, Forced to Carry Out Cyber Frauds
The situation involves over 5,000 Indian nationals who have been lured to Cambodia under the pretense of data entry jobs, only to find themselves trapped and forced into conducting cyber frauds against people back in India. These fraudulent activities have reportedly caused a loss of at least Rs 500 crore over the past six months. In response, the Indian government, through various ministries and the embassy in Cambodia, has initiated efforts to rescue and repatriate these individuals, with around 250 Indians already having been rescued. The government's strategy includes close collaboration with Cambodian authorities to address and curb these cyber fraud schemes.
