India’s $57 Billion Futuristic Tank Development Program represents a significant endeavor by the Indian Army to replace its aging fleet of Russian T-72 tanks with a new generation of advanced combat vehicles, designated as the Future Ready Combat Vehicle (FRCV). The program aims to produce tanks that are medium-weight (around 50 tons) and equipped with modern warfare capabilities like chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear protection, advanced fire detection and suppression systems, missile warning systems, and stealth technologies.
